When a string smashes into two items it will need to be changed as any maintenance will not be as powerful. Sometimes short-term maintenance will need to be done until some new string can be obtained, for example at sea when the string will have to endure until the vessel is next in slot. This type of fix is known as splicing and includes the weaving of two finishes of string together.

Personal the person lengths of both finishes of the string and uncover it five changes. Most rules have three primary lengths operating all the way through them. This should keep six separate lengths, three from each end of the damaged string.

Closure the finishes of string so they do not arena. If it is artificial string liquefy the finishes with a smoke less heavy. For organic string, connect some electric record to the finishes.

Tie the lengths together with a primary overhand troubles. Take the top take a position of one string, known as A1, and troubles it with the end follicle of the other end, known as B1. Tie A2 to B2, the center lengths, and A3 to B3, the last staying areas of string.

Stiffen the troubles in the center so the two finishes are properly secured together and there are three lengths of string going in each route.

Attach the lengths from string A to string B. Incorporate A1 under B1 using the marlin raise to create a gap between the string lengths. Then weave A1 over B2 and under B3 so it is now aspect of the string.

Do it again the last phase with A2 weaving under B2, over B3 and under B1. Then finish the A string join by weaving A3 under B3, over B1 and under B2.

Incorporate the B string lengths into the A string using the same technique.

Clean up the liven by reducing off reduce finishes of string and by moving the string underfoot to eliminate the mounds.
